Bouncing Lily to sleep on the Yoga Ball

I have a Danskin Yoga ball (65 cm) and a CoreBasics Yoga ball (65 cm) and they have been invaluable. My baby loves to be bounced to sleep - you read that right, *bounced* to sleep.

When we first brought her home from the hospital as a newborn, I started bouncing her in my arms a little, but my arms just got exhausted. So I switched to jumping in the living room to put her to sleep. Eventually my legs were exhausted.

I had a yoga ball from before I had the baby, and a light went on in my head! Now when Lily is fussy or tired, I scoop her up in my arms and sit on the yoga ball and bounce. She loves it, and as I've talked with other mom's, she's not the only baby that enjoys that bouncing sensation! I buy one for every new mother I know!

LOOOVE my yoga ball!!

I too have had my ball for years and NEVER did it get so much use than after my first little one was born. Some nights, it was the only way she'd fall asleep and what great exercise for daddy and me!

Even when she was older we would still use the ball. She sits on our laps while we sing our ABC's (a letter per bounce). We also have her sit on it and hold her hands and rock her back and forth or hold her hands while she stands on it, developing balance.

Baby #2 is just as happy with it. Now they have to take turns. The BEST baby gear ever (even if that wasn't it original intent)!
