This is a great crib - very lightweight (only 6lbs!) but still nice and roomy for baby! Suitable for indoor AND outdoor use, the crib is super comfy with a self-inflating mattress!

The Peapod travel cots are designed for use as beach tents, too - making them really good value for money! You can protect your baby from the sun, wind and bugs during outdoor use, but these beds are also very comfortable for night time sleeping. They include a nice soft air mattress rather than the more board-like base included with other travel cots. This one is easy to set up... but a little more difficult to take down! With a little practise, though, you'll soon get the hang of it!

These models are a little more expensive - but for the extra cost you get lots of useful features including a changing table that folds away and a removeable bassinet. We like the pedestal base that rocks or rolls (if you want it to, of course - otherwise it remains fixed)!

This travel crib has a hefty price tag - but is it worth those extra dollars? Our opinion is - if you can afford the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light - then buy it... it will be money well spent!
Amazingly light in weight - yet extremely sturdy and strong - this crib has to be the easiest of all travel cribs to assemble. Virtually all you need to do is unfold it - and, unlike many other 'easy' to assemble cribs - this one is equally simple to put away afterwards! Taking into account its generous length (suitable for children up to 3 years of age) and its nice, comfy mattress, this is a crib that will give lots of service and is worth every penny!

The ever popular Pack n Play travel cots from Graco have lots of great features and we really like this one, which we feel is very reasonably priced considering all it has to offer! Not only do you get a changing table and nicely padded bassinet, this particular model also includes a mobile and an electronics unit that provides soft music to (hopefully) lull your baby to sleep!

Isn't this cute? The Graco Travel Lite Pack N Play is around a fifth smaller than other Pack N Plays and weighs under 20lbs. It has all the great features you'd expect from a Pack N Play and more, including an indoor canopy, soft toys, a removeable bassinet and easy, push-button folding.

These little beds are only suitable for younger babies, up to 28 inches in length - but they are extremely portable and lightweight, making them ideal if you tend to be out and about a lot and need a safe place to pop your little one down for a nap! They fold up in seconds, with or without the toy bar in place!

A snuggle nest is a great idea if you want to co-sleep but have concerns about doing so. It folds up neatly, so you can use it at home then just pack it up when you want to travel.

If the travel bed you choose for your baby doesn't feature protection against insects, don't forget to buy a bug net! We like this one because it is designed to fit almost any standard size cribs, rectangular playards, travel cots, bassinets... and even some types of strollers. But the best feature is that the system uses two nets - meaning that it's easy to get to your baby if you need to!

These are nice, functional portable cots from Mothercare - they don't come with all the frills of the Graco Contour Electra (below), but then this is reflected in the lower price. You still get a changing station and basinette which, of course, are the main requirements when looking for a good cot during your baby's first year.

Putting it away again takes a little practice, but it can be done quickly once you get the hang of it. This is a unique item that's available only online - and it could work out to be invaluable when on holiday!
A common problem when travelling with baby is the difficulty in getting him to sleep in a room that's not as dark as he's used to. This canopy, which is lightweight and designed for travel, fits most travel cots and provides the dark and cosy environment he needs. It also works as an effective insect net and is perfect for camping trips.
The design is rather elaborate, using 'doors' and 'windows' to make it easy to get into - and the canopy uses lots of mesh and a special fabric that's fully breathable, but resistant to damage.
This product isn't cheap, but if your little one shares a room with you - or with a big brother or sister - it could be used at home, too, providing real value for money.
