I am a mom of two little ones ages 3 1/2 and 9 months. I came across the ergo carrier reviewing other mom's reviews about baby carriers. One particular mom suggested no other carrier than this one.

This carrier is ergonomically correct for the infant to be carried by the adult. This carrier allows you to carry your child three different ways: front, side and on your back. It is lightweight, and does not ever pull on your back. It also carries children up to 50 lbs. My son still loves to get rides in it once in a while!

With having to have to carry the baby all of the time my son sometimes doesn't get that quality hugs all of time. So I will put the baby in the stroller and carry my older son in the carrier. He feels so special and I still have my hand free to shop and not have to worry if the kids are following me! We all win!

I have recommended this to numerous friends and the ones who took my advice have LOVED and not regretted purchasing this item. The ones with multiple kids wished they would have purchased it sooner.

I can nurse my baby in it while walking around, and they also have an optional infant insert.

The Ergobaby Carrier

If you want to buy only one, get this one. It's easy to put on, and easy to put your baby in and out. It's easy on your back (NO PAIN!). You can wear your baby on your front, back, or even side (though I hardly ever use the side function because you have to rearrange the straps a little). I didn't go anywhere without it.

Notably, if I had to be out past my baby's nap times, he just slept right in the carrier, so I often could be out running errands or visit with friends. It was also great for when we were around a lot of strangers or in unfamiliar settings because when he was in the carrier, he felt safe and so he rarely fussed.

It also has a great snap-on hood that helps baby's head from flopping around if he/she falls asleep in it (which is VERY likely to happen!).

Nowadays, even though my son can walk (he's two, and 34 lbs), I still I find useful because it's easier to use this than a stroller when shopping (no worries about parking the stroller outside a store and having it stolen or folding up the stroller and toting it around). I should also note that the accessories also make this a great carrier -- they attach to the carrier to help keep you hands free.

*Note: You'll see from my other reviews that I've been a little obsessed with finding the perfect baby carrier for every stage of my baby's growth because I am an adoptive mother and want to carry my baby as much as possible for attachment and bonding purposes. I have reviewed many carriers and like each for their particular strengths, but the Ergobaby carrier is by far my favorite. This is my favorite gift to give for newbie moms.

Ergo SPORT Baby Carrier Review

Read this before you shop!

The Ergo Sport Carrier is similar to the original in its design, however it has 5 extra inches of straps in length (shoulders) and width (waist). This was a key feature for when we decided to get it for our 10 month old son, and to be used primarily by my husband who is tall and needed a wider waist strap.

The Sport holds up to 40 lbs just like the original. It comes in black, and is extremely comfortable and easy to adjust between my husband and I who vary greatly in height and weight.

We had bought a Baby Bjorn that only holds up to 22 lbs, and was never comfortable for my husband to use. We wish we had known about Ergo before making our first purchase. Ergo also sells an infant insert for your newborns, so it really can be used for so much longer, more bang for your hard-earned buck! :)

Ergo Baby Carrier

Carrying the little guy around this week

My son is now 10 months old and this is the only way to comfortably carry him around while still having two free hands!

The carrier puts the weight of the baby on your hips, so your back and shoulders don't feel the strain. It is wonderful for running errands, cleaning the house and walking the dog!

The small hood straps in place when the little guy falls asleep to keep him comfortable and block the light. And the carrier keeps the connection between parents and little ones. It truly is the best product from birth to toddler!

The Ergo Baby Carrier - Review

My sister and I. I'm wearing the Ergo.

I love the Ergo baby carrier because it fits the body so well. It shifts the weight of the baby to your hips rather than to your back like most carriers. I have worn this carrier with a 25lb baby for over 4 hours straight and had no back pain afterwards what so ever. My sister traded with me once for her baby carrier and I was shocked at the difference. Within 15 minutes of wearing her baby carrier (which was a very poplular and well known brand) my upper back was starting to hurt.

We recently had twins and went out and bought a second Ergo baby carrier so that my husband and I wouldn't have to fight over the better carrier. :)

The Ergo Baby Carrier

This is the second carrier I have used since I had Abigail. I had the Baby Bjorn original carrier before, since all my sisters have it. But Abigail is a big baby, so after she reached 6 months I felt pain in my back every time I carried her. There was not enough lumbar support for me, so I started looking for a new one.

Everyone in my son's Kindergarten class who has a second baby suggested the Ergo carrier for me. And it's true. My back is saved!

This is the best carrier and it lasts longer because it can carry your child until 40 Lbs if you want to ( not that I plan to do it :)). And with this carrier I can carry my child in the back, so I can cook without worrying that I will hurt her because I'm close to the stove.

Ergo Baby Carrier

The hospital should send every new mom home with a Ergo Baby Carrier!

My baby son, now 5 months, is a very clingy baby. The only way he slept the first three months was in his Ergo. He is a good size baby and carrying him all day gets very painful. His weight was evenly distributed through out my legs and not my back. He was easy to wear all day long.

Ergo Baby Carrier

I been using my Ergo since my Daughter was 4 mths old. It is super comfy and it carries her as if she is sitting, not suspended by her crotch like other carriers.

It is great - I keep it in my stroller and the car when I shop or have a day out of the house and if she gets cranky in the stroller I just pop her in and she is happy to be near me and usually takes a snooze.

It is great for nursing too.

Ergo Baby Carrier Review

I have tried a good number of different wraps and mei tai carriers and I always go back to my Ergo. I started using it with my first baby when he was 2 months old with their newborn insert and used it until he was 32 months old and 30 pounds. We used it on several hiking and snowshoeing trips, very comfortable! Now I am using it with number two and love it just as much as the first time around.

It is very easy to get baby in and out. My son spent a lot of time in it and would get excited when he saw me putting it on. It is also very durable, I have not noticed any wear on it after over 3 years of use. I would recommend this carrier to anyone who is wanting to carry their baby. I have been 100% satisfied, worth every penny!
