Review of Your Baby Can Read DVD and Book Set by Dr. Robert Titzer

I saw these DVD, flashcards, and bookset, on an infomercial. They are fantastic at gaining your young babies attention, to the art of learning how to read at a very young age.
I don't usually buy anything off of an infomercial, but this by far has been my best purchase yet for my baby, because she is now 13 months old, and when I ask her to point to the word that says "dog" in his (slide book), she immediately goes right to it and pushes the word over to see the picture. (it's kind of like a flash card book).
The program recommends starting your baby on the DVD's as early as three months. I started my little gal at 4 months. She was fascinated, and always listened and stared intensely. I compared these to the Baby Einstein Videos, and although there are a few very good Baby Einstein Videos, if I had the choice, I would definitely buy this series first. Even though my daughter can't talk yet, she is learning how to read.
It is also a great set if you are a new mom, single mom, or someone that has forgotten basis baby tunes because there are several well known songs, with various verses... but every step of the way the words are accompanied in written letters, with different colors and different fonts.... . I bought the entire system, which was approximately 60 bucks a month for three months, (around that price)... and it came with several things.
The five DVD set, with thorough recommendations on how and when to introduce each one, 4 sets of sliding flash cards, Word Game Cards for when she gets a little older to play games with, and a book, with sliding words. (YOU see the word first, then slide it over, and there is a picture of what that word stands for)....
When she goes away to the babysitters I have gotten rave reviews on how she likes to show off during the flashcards, or during the slide and read book. Giggles and squeals galore!
I feel confident, that very soon after my daughter starts talking, she will also be reading on her own. I'm predicting for her at about 3 years old at the latest depending on when she starts talking.
The set also came with a separate CD of the songs exactly the way they are sung on the DVD's. I put this in my car, and when my little one was very upset for some reason on a long highway trip, I popped the CD into my car player and "Voila".... She stopped crying. She just couldn't help but to listen.
It is an older set, and somewhat homemade looking, like a homemade video, and yes you could take the time to make something similar, but, as a single mom, I didn't have the time. The product works, the more you use it, and that's all there is to it.
When buying, I advise making sure the set is new, as my little one has done some chewing on her cards.
Also, I like that it is simple, not so many images coming at your tiny tiny little baby all at once like the Baby Einstein DVD's. She was able to watch them, because I put my focus on her watching them instead of the Baby Einstein DVD's. That way, she didn't get hooked on the baby Einstein DVD's and prefer those over these. Now that she loves them, we refer back to them, and I use the baby Einstein DVD's for emergencies....one of them puts us both to sleep when she is very sick, but that would be a completely different review altogether! : )
I give the whole system 5 stars, without hesitation.
