Review of the Sassy Ideal Temp Feeding Spoon

The Sassy Ideal Temp Feeding Spoon has a thermometer-shaped area in the bowl of the spoon that changes to a lighter color, when the temperature of the food is too hot (approximately 105 degrees F or above).

It is molded plastic rather than a silicone covered bowl on a metal spoon. It has an extra-long handle which is comfortable to hold, and makes it easier to get the spoon back from your baby when she steals it!

The blunt end is large and rounded so you baby won’t poke her self in the eye, the bowl of the spoon is also rounded. The set I bought came in a 4 pack, three of the four spoons I own have an orange bowl and stars on the handle with a magenta thermometer area on spoon and handle the other one is has a blue bowl and stars on the handle with an orange thermometer area on spoon and handle. They come in various colors. The whole spoon is a thermometer and will turn color when place in hot water, not just the bowl area.

They are easy to use just warm the food then stir the spoon in the food for 15-30 seconds. If the thermometer-shaped area in the bowl of the spoon changes color, the food is too hot and needs to cool. You can rinse the spoon under cold water and repeat procedure until thermometer-shaped area no longer changes color.

I've been using them about six months and they are holding up great. Just a few scratches on the bowl from being banged on the high chair tray.

They are also (BPA) Bisphenol-A (BPA) free. They are top rack dishwasher safe but I find it easier to wash by hand so the spoon doesn’t slip through the rack. I bought it at the grocery store in a 4 pack, for under $5.00
