Review of the Bumbo Seat

Laughing at her cousins!

Laughing at her cousins!

At the baby shower, I got TWO Bumbo seats! I had admired them at Babies 'R Us, and was excited to have two: one for my house, one for my mother's.

The most exciting part about the Bumbo is that your baby can "sit up" way before they are able to do so on their own, and they can join you in the home office or on the island as you make dinner, and be in a chair different than a bouncy seat, where they have to lounge/recline. She felt like such a big girl!

I seriously believe that it helped Royanne sit up sooner!

Now she sits in it, even though she is crawling, when I want her close, but don't want her mobile.

One can also purchase a
Bumbo Baby Seat Play Tray
for a play area or for eating.

We have taken the Bumbo to restaurants and to every family event. This way we can eat without having to hold her when there is no conventional highchair available.

This picture shows Royanne at 3 months. I recommend this product to every one!

USE CAUTION
by: Anonymous

This FLOOR ONLY chair looks like it could be useful however if you have a child who is even mildly active and/or curious, this chair will only cause you grief. Our 5 month old son was twisting his way out of it the moment we tried using it. We have put it up for sale, however I am nervous about giving it to anyone for fear that their child will hurt themselves in it. I do NOT recommend this product.

A Seat that works
by: Zoe Whitley

I bought my baby girl a bumbo seat when she was five months. It helped me to control her when feeding as well as keeping her still and busy when brushing and drying her hair. My baby still uses the seat today. I love it and reccomend the seat for all moms who need that extra hands.

Did NOT enjoy!
by: Nancy

I saw this product in babies 'r' us and even shopped around for similar products. I was so excited when I got it home and put the tray on so my son could sit and play while I worked from home. I was so wrong! First of all How are you supposed to get your child in with the tray on? If you take off the tray you can't put it back on with your child already in the seat! My son
would pull off the toys that were supposed to suction themselves to the tray and throw them on the floor then twist around in the seat to try and get the toys and get stuck with his knees in the leg hole. I ended up consigning this horrible product and telling all my friends to never buy the bumbo seat.

My bumbo
by: Veronica Taylor

My 3 month old Olivia loves to sit up so the bumbo chair and tray are perfect for that. It was a shower gift, but I would recommend it to any new mom.

Warning re: Bumbo Safety!
by: Lee

The lady from Texas talks about putting the Bumbo on raised surfaces....don't do it!! All of the safety literature that comes with the product specifically says NOT to put it on a raised surface.

In fact, the company had to release safety information AGAIN, because infants in Bumbos left on raised surfaces were able to twist around and knock themselves out of the Bumbo!!

It's a great tool but it's for FLOOR USE ONLY!!!

I wish my son liked it
by: Debbie

I love the bumbo. I look at it longingly every day. I wish we could use it. I even bought the tray and everything. But my son squeals when I put him in it. He does have a hernia and that is probably the reason. But I do think this is the best product ever and I'm envious of all who can use it. Maybe my next baby will love it.
