Priddy Books cloth interactive baby books

by Kristin
(Minneapolis, MN, USA)

We have two of the "Priddy Books" cloth baby books. Both are well loved and I can tell you about each page of the book without needing to open the cover- we have read them that often! Though they have had many repeats, I still enjoy reading them to my daughter, and I love how they provide encouragement as she gains exposure to the world of literacy.

I love my board books, but these cloth books have special interactive features on each page. They are designed to be very appealing to little ones who want to touch and feel everything! My daughter loves the sheep with the soft wool to stroke, the oyster with a shiny shell that opens to reveal a pearl, and the three dimensional seaweed that the shark swims through. As we read, she touches all of these things and more and stays involved in the reading. She loves these books and is eager to see them each time I pull them out.

She is learning to attend to stories, and to check out the pictures as I provide exposure to language and rhyming. Each book also has a little summary on the back cover with pictures of all the things in the book. This kind of exposure to vocabulary is great, and I can imagine her pointing to the different animals as she gets older. Reading is such a positive experience with these books, and I am so glad we found them!
