I found these Counting Pals Blocks by Parent's Magazine at our local Target store in the children's toy section. They come in a 10 piece with numbers 1-10 on them as well as cute animals, and in a 26 piece featuring the ABC's and architectural blocks. They are colorful, soft, squishy and have a squeaky feature. They are rated for 6+ months.
We purchased the 10 piece, as my 6½ month old is not quite able to build them up. As soon as I placed them in front of her, she went gaga for them. Gaga is the best word I can use to describe her reaction! She loves to slap at them to make them roll about, they squeak when she chomps on them with enthusiasm and when I build them up, she loves crawling to them to knock them over!
My favorite part of them is the edges of the blocks. They are more pronounced, which makes it easier for my baby girl to grip them and of course chew on them! Another fantastic feature to them is that they are squishy! What I mean is... my baby girl likes to roll without looking where she is rolling first. She has some hard plastic blocks rated for 6+ months that she rolls on all the time. They hurt when she does this and she screams in pain when she rolls on them. These Parent's Magazine Counting Pals Blocks are so soft and squishy, that when she rolls on them or plops over on them from a sitting position, they do not even phase her! They're safe for her to play with, and I don't have to worry about sharp edges and corners!
This is the best toy I've bought for her! They are safe, and encourage creative play that will grow with her over a long time! I recommend this toy to every mom and dad!
