Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

So I am increasing his food intake. His doctor didn't give of any guidelines to go by. Very disappointed by this.

I told him we had started with a 1/2 tablespoon. The doctor said just to listen to our child. Which I can understand, but I do need to know where I should be at certain months at least. So I have be researching heavily. When working with a preemie, you need to be careful that your child not lose weight or fall below percentiles. You have a lot of pressures on you from the hospital.

So I have been steadily increasing and Alex is accepting very nicely. He is taking 2 oz of homemade baby food 2-3 times a day right now. This evening was an exception. I defrosted a mixture of green/yellow squash. It was quite watery. So I added some rice cereal. He wasn't too happy about that. I'm not sure if he didn't like the texture or if he was just too tired. He took the first tablespoon fine and then started to cry horribly. He has also been gassy. Take your choice. Gas is his enemy. He had abdominal surgery days after being born, so it really bugs him. So even though he is loving his new foods immensely, his tummy is being challenged a little.

I'm sure by tomorrow he will be back to loving his food again.
