This product has gentle motion, gentle lights, volume CONTROL, a fantastic catalog of songs and nature sounds (none of which are annoying or grating), multiple settings (music only, lights and motion only, all together).

The movement of the fish, plants, bubbles, and crab are different from most other I have seen and have a real appeal. MY daughter has had this all her 16 months and she loves it. We call it her "Fish TV". She likes to turn it on herself, and sometimes does when she wakes up in the middle of the night (sometimes she even foregoes calling out to me - a bonus!).

It has a remote that you can use to activate the unit without "showing your face". I, myself really like it and am trying to think of a way to use it when she's out of the crib. Also, the other children in the family, ages 13, 8, 5, 3, and 2 love it.

Worth the money for the versatility and great if you are tired of those awful tinkly music selections some bedtime toys have. I know we were!

Great Crib toy

My mother bought my daughter this crib soother and we love it. My 4 month old is turning it on, on her own by hitting it with her feet. She is very much into her feet. :)

I like that the button to activate is large enough and brightly colored so that little hands can zone in on it to learn to turn it on themselves. Great for independence building.

The light is not too bright for night time use. The sound control is easy to adjust. Several sound and light adjustments. The combination s are endless.

Someone mentioned a remote control. Not sure if this is something that is offered with some of the products or an older model. The new ones offered in Babys R Us/Toys R Us do not have a remote control.
