Bummis SWIMMI

Since switching to cloth diapers nine months ago, I keep trying to find ways to buy more reusable rather than disposable baby products. One such item is the Bummis SWIMMI, a reusable swim diaper. It functions in the exact same way as the disposable version of a swim diaper, but I simply wash and reuse rather than throw away and buy more.
There are several brands available; however, I chose Bummis because it goes on like a diaper with velcro tabs. Most other brands simply pull up to go on and pull down to come off. To pull down a diaper with a poopy mess only makes the mess bigger and I didn't want to have to deal with that!
I have found that the SWIMMI is very easy to clean - I just rinse out any mess, then machine wash and dry (just no fabric softeners). So far we don't have any stains!
The Bummis Swim Diaper is also very cost effective. At around $11.00 it is very comparably priced to one package of disposable swim diapers.
Finally, the SWIMMI is just so darn cute! Even though I could put a regular swimsuit on over the SWIMMI, I don't want to!
One thing to note is that, at least for us, the sizes tend to run large. I originally purchased a size medium for my 15 lb. 5 month old and a size large for my 27 lb. 2 year old based upon Bummis' weight recommendations. However, the medium actually fits my two year old and I ended up purchasing a small for my five month old.
