Brooke's Battle with Meats and Veggies

Mommy's little cutie pie: Brooke!

Brooke is my first child, she is 10 months old! She is a very smart and happy baby, that is until feeding time comes around! Because, you see, Brooke knows what Brooke likes! And that AIN'T veggies and meats!!

So, here I am , a concerned, desperate mother, trying to get this child to eat some, just a bite even, of veggies or meat. Does corn count as a veggie?!! Cuz, if it does, were on the track then!!! Brooke loves corn, she also loves, fruits, squash and sweet potatoes, as well as cookies. Seems she has a sweet tooth, however, she has not one tooth yet!! I wonder if that has something to do with her dislike of meat??

Well, that's where I am right now, and Brooke starts daycare in a few days,so I'm hoping maybe she will be more adventurous once she settles in there and will attempt to like veggies and meat!

If anyone else has the same problem, I'd appreciate any comments on how to get over this hump!

Hi Wendy, my little girl Stephanie is very similar, so it is certainly not unusual! Yes corn, squash & sweet potatoes do count as veggies, so you are not doing too bad at all! You may be able to encourage her to eat meat & veggies by mixing sweet stuff in with it. Carrots, Squash, Apples & Pears are all naturally sweet and great base foods to mix in with other things. You could try fish & lentils as other protein options. You can also add things like milk, butter, low sodium stock & cheese to make it more tasty for her. Some veggies don't have too much taste (zucchini & cauliflower for example) so can be easier to get down the hatch. I hope that has given you a few ideas and good luck, I'm sure she'll be eating meat and veggies in no time!
