And here's March's Baby of the Month -
Happy Little Marlee, 9 Months, from Agoura Hills, CA, USA
Marlee's Mum, Suzanne, told us...
This is Marlee is all dressed for Valentine's day! She didn't take to solids well at all and we tried to force her for a month. This stubborn little one wanted nothing to do with the spoon or solids. When she learned to protest keeping her mouth tightly sealed, we knew she was winning the battle. Then we tried yogurt! And she loved it. I was able to hide rice cereal and oatmeal in it so she would get her grains and iron. And now she isn't as cautious about the spoon. She'll eat the applesauce, carrots, peas and squash that I make her.
I'm going to try the avocado recipes on this site next! I'm looking for a recipe to make my own cereal puffs.
Thank you for sending in Marlee's photograph, Suzanne - and thanks for sharing your yogurt
trick. It's wonderful that Marlee's learning to enjoy her solids!
And thank you, too, to everyone else who entered last month! Here are some more of our favourite pictures sent in during February, along with a few words from Mum...
Analise, 8 months - from Geneva, Switzerland![]() After reading about how to make my own on your website I tried it out and haven't turned back. It's so much more economical and it's so easy. I love all of the ideas I get here - I'm always inspired to try new things. Cash, 4 months - from Kissimmee, Florida, USA![]() He'll eat anything you give him but his ultimate favorite is fresh pureed banana. His other favorites are roasted butternut squash, pears and lentils. He now weighs a healthy 17 pounds at only 4 months old! This is a picture of him in his new activity center having lot's of fun! Kaija, 11 months![]() Some of her favourites now are: pasta, toast, oranges, and broccoli! My favourite is when she goes to put something in her mouth, and it lands under her chin (on her bib), but she still makes the chewing motion as if it made it in her mouth!! Kyler - 5 months, from Cassville, MO, USA![]() He began eating foods rather early when formula didn't stay down. He quickly developed a taste for fresh sweet potatoes, sweet peas and pears, but still refuses to eat green beans or peaches.
Matthew, 7 months - from Blue Springs, Missouri, USA![]() When Matthew first started solids, he would suck his thumb between each bite! Now he's too excited for that, leaning forward to meet the spoon with every bite! Whenever he sees Mom & Dad making his food, he starts waving his arms around frantically - practically flying - excited to eat!
![]() Maya, 8 months - from Toronto, Ontario, CanadaShe loves oat and rice cereals. Her favourite food would be butternut squash, sweet potatoes and arrow root cookies. She hates green peas!
