At Homemade Baby Food Recipes, we enjoy hearing about how your babies
are getting on with solid foods - and we love to receive photographs of them, too!
In our Baby of the Month Competition, we invite you to send in a special
photograph of your little one - and we publish our favourites on the site!
The current winners - and the entry form for sending in YOUR baby's

page - and below you can see the winners from June's competition!
So let's meet June's beaming "Baby Of The Month"
little Quinlan, 6 months, from New York, US
Quinlan's Mum, Christina, told us...
Quinlan has been eating solid foods for about 2 weeks, and he can't get enough! It's been so rewarding to make him food from scratch and see the big smile on his face as he polishes off an easy 2 bowls of the daily special. He loves it all - carrots, sweet potato, peas, cauliflower, pears, apples, bananas. We just tried avocado, and despite his initial grimace, proceeded to eat the whole thing.
I like to call this photo his "post dinner euphoria"- He's got quite a big appetite for a little guy,
but he's just like his parents!
Wow, Christina - he's off to a fantastic start and clearly approves of your wholesome
home cooking! Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous photograph with us!
And thank you, too, to everyone else who entered last month! Here are some more of our favourite pictures sent in during May, along with a few words from Mum...
Isis, 3 months - from Tianjin, China![]() Every night we sat down for a family meal and she began whining and fussing for some reason. The only thing that would quiet her was if we would hold her in our lap and let her taste some of the food we were eating. Since we live in China we were having foods like steamed sweet potatoes and taro, boiled chinese cabbage and lettuce. All things were made with very little salt since we dip them in a chili/ vinegar sauce as we eat. So to let her be a part of the family dinner we have started to give her mostly carrot baby food with her rice cereal that we buy in the store and she loves them. The only problem is that here in China they only offer about 3 different flavors of baby food...one for each stage. So carrots were really our only option. Now that we've found this website we plan on letting her explore more tastes and getting her more excited about food.
Harsh, 13 months - from Dubai, UAE![]() Then I started giving him cereals and then slowly and surely introduced him to the big colourful world of fruits and vegetables. He has a sweet tooth (like Mommy) and loves yoghurt. He dosent like to sleep much so at night he keeps making noises, hoping somebody would play with him!! He says a few words now and his favourite toy is a ball. He likes grilled chicken and as of now enjoys having alphonso mangoes.
Nikita, 9 months - from Fremont, CA, US![]() I bet you can see some of the naughtiness in this pic of hers! I started giving her rice cereal mixed with breast milk when she was a little over 5 months. Then I introduced oat cereal followed by vegetable purees after a month. I had started with store bought purees but very quickly learnt the art of cooking baby food at home (reading through your and other websites). So she has mostly had home made baby food. Her favorite food so far is carrots and peas! Can you believe it? She does not even like fruits as much as her carrots and peas! So now that she has turned almost 9 months, I have started offering cooked veggies such as (you guessed it) carrots, peas and broccoli and she just loves picking them up and feeding herself. She so cutely wrinkles her nose when she does not want to eat something we are offering. We just love watching her explore and grow every day! It is hard to believe how she was just a tiny 5 pound 8 ounce baby just 9 months ago and oh how she has grown into this adorable being who means everything to us now!
Rayan, 10 months - from Mumbai, India![]() She just opens her mouth for everything! I started her on solid food at six months with mashed rice soup and banana for a start. Presently, she eats rice mixed with any vegetable (pumpkin, leafy vegetables, cauliflower & cabbage) and she loves to eat sago diluted in milk. She eats most of the fruits, except apple. She is reluctant to eat that, but I still manage to give it to her with custard!
