Baby Of The Month - Previous Winners

July 2009

At Homemade Baby Food Recipes, we enjoy hearing about how your babies are getting on with solid foods - and we love to receive photographs of them, too!

In our Baby of the Month Competition, we invite you to send in a special photograph of your little one - and we publish our favourites on the site!

The current winners - and the entry form for sending in YOUR baby's photographs - are on our Baby of the Month page - and below you can see the winners from July 2009's competition!

So meet July's Baby of the Month -
gorgeous little Niņa, 7 months, from Manila, Philippines

Nina Niņa's Mum, Maria, told us...

Niņa is a very active baby. She loves to pose everytime she sees a camera and videos...always ready with a face full of smile!

She loves to eat almost everything! I started her on solid food at five months with mashed potato and cerelac.

Now, at 7 months she eats rice mixed with any vegetable (pumpkin, broccoli, cauliflower & cabbage) and she loves to eat oats!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo, Maria - Niņa looks so lost in thought! Perhaps she's wondering what you'll be making her for dinner!

And thank you, too, to everyone else who entered last month!

Here are some more of our favourite pictures sent in during June, along with a few words from Mum...

Aiko - from Nagoyashi, Japan

Aiko
She started eating at five months. When she reached six months, she didn't want to eat some baby foods.

Instead, she loves some different kinds of foods - the same foods that we her Papa and I eat. But, of course, I´m very careful about it.

And with your website, I am very thankful. At least now I have lots of recipes to be prepared for this Wonderful Little Angel of mine!

Annie, 6 1/2 months - from Sharjah, UAE

Annie
Annie is our treassure, a great gift from GOD.

She loves rice & curd, but veggies and fruits..Hmmmm! But I just happened to visit your website today - I never knew that such wide variety/options of foods are available for little kiddos! Really, the recipes look soo yummy, even to me!

I surely hope she is gonna enjoy every meal of hers from now on...thanks to every one behind this who took effort to bring out this website!

Leksi, 11 months - from Hull, UK

Leksi
Leksi loves her food! Right from the very start she's been so easy to feed, apart from when she has new teeth coming through and she seems to go right off everything for a good week. Then all of a sudden I can't fill her!

She loves fruit, I don't think there is anything fruit wise that she doesn't like, which delights me as I then don't feel the need to give her cakes or many biscuits as fruit is her pudding. :-)

Leksi is my little angel and she's definitely a mummy's girl but that's not to say she doesn't love her daddy. When he gets home from work, she gets soooo excited and starts running up and down holding onto the settee. They then start hiding from each other and playing peek-a-boo. Its so nice to watch!!! :-)

Emari, 9 months - from Trinidad, West Indies

Emari
Emari is a very happy baby, he enjoys being in the company of others, and he just loves to eat!

At birth he weighed in at 8lbs 5 oz, exclusively breast fed until 3 months old, and still being breast fed presently.

Thankfully he is not a picky eater, I started him on solids at six months, did not want him on any commercially prepared foods, so I started searching for alternatives, thats when I encountered your website and been using it ever since (thank you).

Emari eats veggies, fruits, yougurt, you name it he eats it, no problemo, my mom says "the only thing he don't eat is pepper".

I love that he is a hearty/healthy eater, but was concerned about him becoming overweight, however his pediatrician says he is well within his age/weight range so no cause for concern.

His favourites at present; cream of wheat, yougurt, mangoes, tuna, sweet potatoes.

This photo shows him snacking on homemade khruma.

Keilana Zeya, 7 months - from Perth, WA, Australia

Keilana
"Please can I have some more, Mummy?"

Keilana, our little koala, is our little angel.

Keilana means "Adored one" in Hawaiian, and Zeya means "determination and perseverance" in Burmese. Keilana is Irish-Burmese. We decided on a polynesian name as we got married in the Cook Islands.

Keilana loves to eat. She will eat anything I give her which is fantastic! And now she wants to feed herself too, so I always have to have an extra bowl and spoon handy for her to play with!

Her favourite foods are broccoli/spinach mixed with apple; mango and yoghurt; and pasta bolognaise.

I am so happy she is not a fussy eater!

Natalia

Natalia, 12 months - from Las Vegas, Nevada, US

She is a healthy eater, she loves all the vegetables and fruits, except papaya and tofu.

She doesn't walk yet but crawls around the house. She eats 3 times a day - just homemade food from your recipes, thanks a lot.

Payson

Payson, 9 1/2 months - from Sugar Grove, IL, USA

He loves me he loves me not.....

She loves cottage cheese, canned carrots, tofu and mashed potatoes. As long as I mix everything new with one of those foods she is willing to try it.

She really doesn't like tomato sauce, it must upset her tummy.

Rayaan, 15 months - Trissur, Kerala, India

Rayaan
Rayaan has started loving food:)

He wants to eat whatever we are eating...if he dislikes it, he just walks off, but if he likes it he just grabs it from the dining table:)

Thanks for the lovely recipes here... Its so simple and the ingredients are easily available:)

He loves cheese, rice, fish, pasta etc.

Varenya, 9 months - from Glen Allen, VA, United States

Varenya
Varenya was born a healthy 7.9lbs. She is so precious to me. She is such a happy baby who constantly gets comments from strangers!

Previously, she use to enjoy her food very much but nowadays she is in the mood for playing! She loves to have a different variety every time she had a food, if it is Gerber's Graduates Finger Foods. When I searched on Google I found your site and I am preparing daily one variety of food for her - mostly she loves carrot and sweet potato. She loves to eat what we are eating.

She is a good dancer if I play music. She enjoys music very much!
