In our Baby of the Month Competition, we invite you to send in a special photograph of your little one - and we publish our favourites on the site!

Welcome to our new Baby of the Month and the very first Baby of the Month of 2009 -
little Irmante, 9 months, from Lithuania.

Irmante's Mum, Skirmante, told us...

As you can see, Irmante likes blueberries or apple with rice cereal or oatmeal.

She find vegetables very tasty and eats them like a rabbit - especially broccoli!

She only likes food prepared by Mum!

Akshar, 1 year, 2 months - from Bangalore, India

My Akshar is a naughty but adorable child!

He greets everyone with his beautiful smile.

He loves carrots, potatoes, banana, apple and yogurt. And he is always happy to eat sweets!

My little Angel is 7 months old and she's so curious about the brand new world around her!

She just loves the new sounds she hears for the first time or any new article she can lay her hands on. She grabs anything within her reach and tries to taste it...wondering if there's any mysterious culinary delights hidden in it!

"Pretty in Pink"

Gwen loves to eat anything and everything. She prefers anything she can feed to herself, and is just starting to master using a fork. She's a "mooch" and will eat anything if someone else has it.

I've been very blessed that she's loved everything we've fed her. Even things like avocadoes, which she didn't like at first, she loved after only a few tries!

Pushkar - 9 months, from Westborough, MA, USA

Pushkar turned 9 months old recently. He loves to play with food rather that eating. Making rasberries is the way to stop me from giving food!

But the favorite food item for him is applesauce, pears & turkey... and Papa's nose :-).

Whenever I am offering him puffs he want to spread them around. He is such a silly boy who tries to find out where did he throw those puffs!

He loves to roll over to our plates when we are eating and continuously observe us!

Sam, 6 months - from Berlin, Germany

Sam seems to have a good appetite, just like his mum and dad!

He grabs the spoon and puts it in his mouth with great enthusiasm.

Here he´s eating potato and parsnip.

Suvipra, 11 months - from India

My baby enjoys eating all different kinds of solid foods, although he still likes to drink more liquids than eat solids because that needs less effort!

I started with giving apple puree, mashed bananas, steamed carrots, mashed vegetables and teething biscuits and now he wants to try out everything that we eat.

He wants the food to be served to him in similar plates and bowls to those we use for ourselves. Also, he wants to eat when we are eating, not before or after.

He does a funny thing which makes us laugh. When he has eaten enough and is not hungry anymore, he makes faces to show as if his food has turned sour. Even his milk turns sour, if he is not hungry anymore!
