Baby Of The Month - Previous WinnersDecember 2008
At Homemade Baby Food Recipes, we enjoy hearing about how your babies
are getting on with solid foods - and we love to receive photographs of them, too!
In our Baby of the Month Competition, we invite you to send in a special
photograph of your little one - and we publish our favourites on the site!
The current winners - and the entry form for sending in YOUR baby's
photographs - are on our Baby of the Month
page - and below you can see the winners from December's competition!
Here we have December's winner and
the last "Baby Of The Month" of 2008 -
beautiful, beaming Desiree, from Santa Ana, CA.
Desiree's Mum, Rubi, told us...
Desiree LOVES to eat! When other people see her eat, they are amazed at how well she eats everything. I've been making her food since she started on solids with no added sugar or salts. Since she pretty much happily eats everything, it seems that every food is her favorite. One of the cutest things is that after she is done eating bread, she wets her index finger, picks up the crumbs with it, and eats those too! She sure doesn't like wasting food!
The one thing however that she DOES NOT like is broccoli.
Thanks for sharing this photograph with us, Rubi - we love Desiree's clever trick for picking
up her breadcrumbs - how cute!
And thank you, too, to everyone else who entered last month! Here are some more of our favourite pictures sent in during November, along with a few words from Mum...
Anaya, 12 months - from Kolkata, India![]() Anaya's favorite is yogurt...sweet strawberry flavoured yummy yogurt. After finishing one cup of yogurt she still hopes for more. She has four little teeth and biting out big pieces of cookies is her little snack time game. She enjoys banana, water melon and apple juice too. First time she saw a bowl of noodles she looked real fearful, but since then she has tried touching and eating them on her own. She makes this funny yum yum noise in her mouth to show she is enjoying her meal even after she has finished her mouthful. She is a funny little one and I love being her mommy.
![]() Jake, 7 months - from Sydney, Australia"Ho Ho Ho"Jake LOVES banana! I can never go wrong with banana and kiwi combo. Your delicious recipes give him plenty of energy to deliver Christmas gifts!
Daniel from New York, USA![]() Il aime specialement la nourriture de mon pays et les recettes que j ai prends dans votre site. Il n aimes pas la nourriture des boites deja preparer. Il aime homemade ...pour le faire bien manger tu dois le faire de blague. I love my baby! ...And our translation (accurate, we hope) He prefers my home country’s food and the recipes that I found on your site. He doesn’t like prepared meals. He likes what I prepare for him… To help him enjoy its meals, I must be playful with him.
![]() Elika, - from KuwaitWhat can you say to this little bubble blower who's very happy while eating? She loves to eat all the recipes I make from Homemade Baby Food Recipes, but she's very much excited with Sweet Potato with Green Beans and Carrots, with a pinch of Cinnamon. I never feel dismayed whilst feeding her and I'm very happy that I am a mother!!! ![]() Lacey and Layla - 7 monthsThe girls both love baby food!!Their favorite is anything with bananas. They also love Chicken and Apples for dinner, sweet potatoes, and any fruit. They are eating 3 times a day and are enjoying every bite of it! Jessica - from West Midlands, England![]() Jessica absolutely loves her food. It was a slow start when we started weaning. Everything I tried to give her, after the first mouthful she would turn her head and close her lips so tightly there was nothing going to get through. This is with the exception of Butternut Squash (which is the one thing I dislike). That lasted for a few days and now she is a pleasure to cook for. Meal times are fun, I love her face when we finish her meal and move onto her pudding.
![]() Mikaella, 5 months - from Fresno, CA, USAMy Mika loves pears. She likes it when I mix it with the rice cereal or oatmeal. She doesn't like peas or any green vegetables. She loves sweet potatoes, apple sauce and everything mixed with rice cereal.
Kyra and Louise, 10 months - from Malaysia![]() I started them with puree fruits like apple, banana & pear with breast milk and then slowly with rice cereal and vegetable. Now they have fruity cereal in the morning, and then porridge with fish and veg like spinach, brocoli, peas with cheddar cheese. They love their meals and I am looking forward for them to start feeding themselves soon...
