Congratulations to April's Baby of the Month -
This Happy Little Soul is Roopkiran, 5 Months, from Jalandhar,Punjab,India
Roopkiran's Mum, Rupinder, told us...
She started to eat solid foods when she was 4 months old. She liked having cerelac the most, but when I visited this site and learned how to make various dishes at home, from that very day she has stopped taking cerelac and is more interested in the home made recipes! She likes eating porridge and banana in various styles, which she used to avoid before.
Thanks! to this wonderful site, it has changed my way of cooking and feeding the baby!
Rupinder, it's wonderful to hear how much Roopkiran is enjoying your cooking - she looks as happy as can be!
Thank you for sending us her photograph!
And thank you, too, to everyone else who entered last month! Here are some more of our favourite pictures sent in during March, along with a few words from Mum...
Analiese, 6 months - from Citrus Heights, CA, USA![]() We started off with just a tiny bit of rice cereal and avocado when she was just shy of 5 months. It seemed early, but she was clearly showing signs of being ready for solids. Her favorite meals are avocado mixed into rice cereal, and apple"sauce." I haven't tried too many foods so far, but Analiese has not protested anything yet! ![]() Clemmie-Lou - from Melbourne,Victoria,AustraliaOur baby is taking well to fruit toast, looooves avocado and likes some commercial organic food. It is very dependent on her little mood and levels of tiredness!Snacks appear to be the thing that interests her the most. Jade, 7 months - from Wellington, New Zealand![]() Jade is a big eater (just like her Daddy!) At 2.5 months, a lot of people would think she was 6 months, and now at 6 months, I get asked if she is 10 months!!! Jade started her solids at 4 months and took to it like a pro. She loves her pumpkin, potatoes and sweet potato. She enjoys eating apples, pears and mango purees too. Mackenzie - 11 months, from Charlotte, NC, USA![]() Mackenzie is 11 months old! She loves food! She will try anything (her father is a chef so she got it naturally!) Her favorites are mashed potatoes, turkey, carrots, blueberries, bananas, green peas, avocado, sourcrout, and homemade apple sauce her grandmother makes for her. She also loves mexican food:) We are bringing her up bilingual in both taste and language. She is walking, talking (momma, dadda, bye bye, & bunnie (her favorite stuffed animal) and getting into everything. The fun has started:) Malaika, 7 months - from ChiangMai, Thailand![]() Right from the start she'll eat anything we give her... she loves flavor and variety. Her all time favorite from the start has been papaya! She has now started eating sticks of papaya as finger food and thinks she so clever managing on her own. If we're not feeding her fast enough we get a raspberry blown at us... sometimes full of food remnants! :)
![]() Rosalyna, 1 year - from Fort Myers, Florida, USARosalyna loves to eat anything other people are eating! She likes to eat the chicken bone... she cries if you don't give it to her! She eats every thing you give her since she was 7 months. With no teeth!
![]() Ruth, 8 monthsYes, she is enjoying the solid foods...she likes our food more than what we cook for her. :-).She eats anything if she is hungry. If she is not hungry she wont even open her mouth when we try to feed her. Autumn, 6 months - from Searcy, AR, USA![]() She has nursed successefully for these six months and also enjoys trying formulas now. Either way,she is the happiest baby I have ever known!!! Nora, 6 months - from Pleasant Hill, Iowa, U.S.![]() She loves to eat! We started solids about 3 weeks ago and so far so good. I have made all of her food up to this point and I love it! Making baby food is so easy, and it is so reassuring to know exactly what is going into her body. We are going to try to grow a vegetable garden this summer and we're planing a cherry tree. I look forward to seeing how she reacts to fresh home-grown, homemade food.
