Baby K'tan Baby Carrier

I've tried just about all of the other baby carriers and slings out there. My daughter would not tolerate staying in any of them for more than 10 minutes until I brought home the Baby K'tan.

After spending all of the money I had before on the other carriers I was hesitant to buy it but I'm so glad I did! My daughter absolutely loves being in the Baby K'tan. We've gone on walks and doing things around the house and we are up to 1 and 1/2 hours in the K'tan. She loves the Adventurer position and is so interested in everything around her.

I should mention that she is 4 months old now and very wiggly!

The K'tan keeps her secure and it is also comfortable for me to wear. (I found that the Baby Bjorn pulled my chest down. I'm large chested and it was not comfortable.)

I hope this helps someone when choosing a carrier or sling. I wish I would have talked to someone that had a Baby K'tan before spending all of the money I did on the other slings.

Not so happy with the K'tan

I purchased the K'tan at the recommendation of a family member who owns about every carrier made, and thought this was one of the best when her baby was young. I anxiously awaited its arrival, only to be disappointed with its use, at least for young babies. The instructions state you can use with newborns (in the cradle position only)and the pictures of babies in this position look content and comfortable, but I have found that my daughter cannot comfortably sit in the carrier- she slides down and the material keeps covering her face, no matter how I adjust it. She just doesn't fit like the pictures. For some reason I am determined to make this work for us, so I have tried it every week, thinking maybe it will be better as she gets bigger. It hasn't worked as of yet, and she is currently 8 wks old and approximately 11 lbs.

I am still hopeful that as she gains head control I will be able to effectively use the K'tan in the other positions.

I would not recommend this product for young babies.
